USA Football Equipment Grants

About the Program

As the sport's National Governing Body, and Official Youth Football Development Partner of the NFL and NFL Players Association, USA Football is committed to enhancing the football experience for all at the youth and amateur levels through its Equipment Grant Program. Each year, USA Football awards equipment grants to youth and high school football programs throughout the country. This $1 million grant program is made possible by the NFL Youth Football Fund.  For more information, visit http://www2.usafootball.com/grants

Who Can Apply

Non-profit youth football leagues and schools (middle and high school levels) nationwide are eligible to apply for USA Football Equipment Grants. Grant determinations are based on merit and need. Interested programs should visit http://www2.usafootball.com/grants to complete the online grant application.

Note: Effective in 2012, any helmet 10 years old or older will not be reconditioned or recertified by a National Athletic Equipment Reconditioning Association (NAERA) member. Youth leagues and schools may employ USA Football grants to follow NAERA's new football helmet reconditioning protocols.

2012 Important Dates

Applications open April 19, 2012 and close May 18, 2012.

Award Amount

USA Football has teamed with Riddell and Rawlings to offer various football equipment and uniform packages Eligible youth football organizations and school-sponsored programs may apply for the following grants:

  • Youth Football Equipment Grant (retail value of $1,000)
  • High School Football Equipment Grant (retail value of $1,500)
